We had a great, albeit very windy, time at the Andover Family Fun Fest this weekend. We had an awesome group of volunteers for both the parade and booth, so thanks to everyone who came out to help!
Be sure to check out the photos page for all of the great pictures from the weekend, but I wanted to share a couple below.
First, proof that the DFL party is both literally and figuratively the big tent party (see my opponent’s tent in the background):

Second, a great shot of the Butler Brigade contingent in the Andover Family Fun Fest 5k!

Thanks again to all of you who helped out. It was great visibility at our most heavily attended festival event of the year.
We have another great opportunity to help coming up on Saturday, July 19. We’ll be meeting at 9:00 in the morning at Ham Lake Park to do our second park clean up of the campaign. We’ll follow that with brunch at about 11:00 in the park and then head out just after noon to do some door knocking. Please come join us for one or both events!

Well, it was a great 4th of July weekend for me, Andrea, and Kellen and I hope it was the same for you. While we stayed in town, we got to see a great fireworks show Thursday night in Anoka and then went to the Ham Lake Veterans Dinner, Dance, and Fireworks sponsored by the Don Hansen VFW. A number of Ham Lakers even had the opportunity to dunk their Democratic State House candidate (pictures to be posted soon).
I spent a lot of time talking with people in the area one on one and, in the column of “you never know who you’re going to run into door knocking”, I stumbled upon the original owners of our house on Saturday. A great couple, it was nice to meet them and talk about the history of the house and the neighborhood.
Well, again, I hope everyone had a great 4th and those of you who left town got back safely!

Welcome to the latest addition to butlerforhouse.com, our blog. I will personally be blogging at least once per week about the latest from the campaign trail, updates about campaign events, and other commentary on what’s going on in our community and around Minnesota.
